1 〔将来〕 a future; prospects; possibilities; an outlook.

●前途ある若者 a young person with a future.

・その会社は前途が思わしくない. The company's prospects are rather dark. | The outlook for the company is not good.

・これでは会社の前途が駄目になる. This will ruin the future of our company.

前途にある[横たわる] lie in one's way; lie [be] ahead of one

●前途多難な計画 a project full of difficulties ahead

・前途多難である there are many difficulties ahead of one; have difficult times ahead [a long, hard fight ahead of one]; the outlook (for one) is rocky.

前途有望 a promising [rosy, bright] future.

●前途有望な青年 a promising youth; a young man of (great) promise; a young man full of promise; a young man with a bright future (before him) [all the world before him]

・彼女は前途有望である. She has a bright future ahead of [before] her.

前途洋々 a promising [rosy, bright] future.

●前途洋々たる青年 a young man with a bright [brilliant, great] future (ahead)

・彼女は前途洋々だ. She has the world [a bright future] before her.

前途遼遠だ 〈人が主語〉 have a long way to go [road ahead of one]; there is a long road ahead (for sb); 〈事が主語〉 be far [a long way] off.

●宇宙船に乗って火星旅行ができるまでにはまだ前途遼遠である. The day when we can travel to Mars in a spaceship is still a long way off. | It'll be a long while before we can take a spaceship to Mars.
